The Echoes of our Spired World

A crowded city of spires and countless architectural forms reach into the far haze of future.

Spires are towering tapering structures. They have moved from being symbols of piety and religious aspiration, to being, almost solely, declarations of wealth and prestige. The Gothic church asserted its connection to heaven, the corporate headquarters advertises its commercial success on earth. As I gaze upon the high buildings and numerous forms I am reminded of the vast maze of objects in the final scene of Citizen Kane.
